Text-to-911 and what3words Jaime Seling – NG911 Coordinator, Peninsula Fiber Network. At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:
• Define what “what3words” is, and how it can help park/trail users in an emergency situation.
• Be able to give examples of when to use text-to-911, and how it’s different than calling 911.
• Reproduce how to send a text-to-911, and how to give their exact location to first responders.
Emergency communication technology continues to evolve, improving response times and accessibility. This session will introduce participants to the statewide Text-to-911 service and the “what3words” geolocation tool. Attendees will learn how these technologies connect callers and dispatchers more efficiently, especially in areas without clear addresses. Presenters will explain how to educate the public about these tools and how to use them to enhance safety in parks, trails, and recreation facilities. Participants will leave with the knowledge to integrate these resources into their emergency protocols.

Vintage Bicycle Show
The Vintage Bicycle Show & Oxford Community Garden fundraiser will be held on Saturday, September 12. Vintage Bicycles of yesteryears are pedaling into the gates of Seymour Lake Park to show support for Oxford’s Community Free Meals. this event is combined with Cruisin’ Down Seymour. Bring your classic and vintage bicycles to show off. Collectors are welcome to bring as many bikes as they would like. Awards for the oldest bicycle and for people’s choice.
