 Learn the proper basic stretching and strengthening exercises needed to keep you healthy for the upcoming golf season.  We will review the most common golf related injuries and how to prevent them from happening to you.  Please wear loose-fitting clothes and bring a 7-iron or more clubs for basic swing instruction.   Class size limited to 10 people.  REGISTER NOW!

TAI CHI FOR ARTHRITIS

Exercise can be beneficial in the treatment of arthritis, say many doctors.  Physical activity can reduce stiffness and increase muscle strength and flexibility, with overall health benefits, such as improving cardiac fitness and physical endurance.  Range of motion exercises like Tai Chi help the body to stretch and move while maintaining normal joint motion.  The slow and elegant exercise movements of Tai Chi are woven together into a "form" with artistic depth.

LINE DANCING
Adults 50+

Join this group of seniors and line dance.  No experience is needed. 

What a  great way to get exercise, meet new friends, and have fun!

PICKLEBALL
Adults 50+

Pickleball is a fun game that is played on a badminton court with the net lowered to 34 inches at the center. It is played with a perforated plastic baseball (similar to a whiffle ball) and wood or composite paddles. It is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players.

*This program moves outside to Seymour Lake Township Park Tennis courts in the Spring. Drop in games played on a rotating basis.

 

NORTH OAKLAND SENIOR & CAREGIVER EXPO
Old World Canterbury Village’s King’s Court Castle


Over 100 exhibitors will be available for area seniors and caregivers on health senior services and senior programs available in the North Oakland County area.  Informational booths will assist seniors, their families, and caregivers locate resources and programs in the community. Information will include:  hospice, estate planning, assisted living, nursing facilities, senior health products, wellness, medical equipment, senior living facilities, health screening, elder law, Alzheimer’s and dementia support, senior activities and trips as well as other services. Prize giveaways throughout the day.
